July 01 to July 31, 2009

July  06 – Casey Anthony's former boyfirend, Tony Lazzaro, hires attorney William R. Jay to represent him. According to Jay, lawyers for Zenaida Gonzales have told him that Lazzaro will soon be deposed in Anthony's civil case.

July  07 – Casey Anthony's death penalty expert lawyer, Dr. Andrea Lyon, informs the court that her teaching schedule at DePaul University would not allow for her to be ready for Anthony's October trial. Upon hearing arguments from both sides, judge Stan Strickland agrees to a postponement and sets a pretrial hearing for January 21st at 10:00 a.m.

July  15 – One year ago today a call by Caylee Anthony's grandmother, Cindy Anthony, launched the investigation into Caylee's disappearance.
