June 2 — The state introduced a series of clips from jailhouse visits between Casey and her family. The hours of recordings reveal the emotions and give spectators a glimpse into the relationships between Casey, her parents, and brother. Read more »
June 3 — The prosecution team focuses on a single strand of hair for most of the day. This is the first time that postmortem root banding has been used as evidence in a trial. Read more »
June 6 — Dr. Arpad Vass, a forensic chemistry expert, tells the jury about the chemical compounds found in Casey Anthony's car. Since unused canned air samples now residing in state's evidence came from the trunk of the murder defendant's car, the jury may be asked to smell the decomposition odor from Caylee Anthony's remains. June 7 — Day 12 of the trial brings Orange County K-9 handler Jason Forgey to the witness stand. Forgey testified that Gerus -- a German shepherd cadaver dog -- indicated a high alert of human decomposition in the trunk of Anthony's car. Read more »
June 8 — The state introduced records of computer searches conducted in March of 2008 at the Anthony home. In addition to search terms such as "neck-breaking," "head injuries" and "chest trauma," a how-to website with directions to produce chloroform was accessed 84 times. Read more »
June 9 — The state introduces pictures of the skeletal remains of Caylee Anthony. Day 13 ends early as Judge Perry reports that the defendant fell ill. Read more »
June 10 — The day's testimony focuses on the Suburban Drive site where Caylee's remains were found. Read more »
June 13 — Dr. Neal Haskell, a forensic entomologist, supported the prosecution's timetable for the murder and body dumping of Caylee Anthony with his testimony about the types of bugs attracted to decomposing human corpses. Haskell also states that the body was left in Anthony's car trunk for three to five days. Read more »
June 14 — Cindy Anthony returns to the witness stand to identify items from her home which were later found near Caylee's remains. Later in the day, the state presents an image of Casey Anthony's "Bella Vita" (or "Beautiful Life") tattoo. Evidence shows that Casey got this tattoo on July 2, 2008. Read more »
June 15 — The prosecution rests its case. Before recessing for the day, the defense team unsuccessfully argued for the case to be acquitted, as they believe the state did not provide enough evidence for a conviction. Jose Baez also submitted a revised witness list, which included a convicted kidnapper they believe to have ties to George Anthony. Read More »
June 16 — On the third anniversary of Caylee's death, Jose Baez questions his first witnesses. Read more »
June 17 — After weeks of unruly crowds waiting through the night outside of the Orange County courthouse, the county changed its spectator ticket distribution methods. Read more »
June 18 — Dr. Werner Spitz testifies as the medical examiner who examined Caylee's remains after Dr. Jan Garavaglia. Spitz called Dr. G's official examination "a shoddy autopsy, because she didn't open up the brain." Read more »
June 22 — As tensions rise during the trial, more TV personalities and "star" journalists descend upon Judge Belvin Perry's 2-story courtoom. Read more »
June 23 — Cindy Anthony returns to the witness stand and is questioned on searches conducted on her computer. Although records indicate that she was at work at the time, Cindy claims that if there were searches for chloroform on the computer, she conducted them. Read more »
June 24 — Lee Anthony is emotional as he recalls frustrations surrounding Casey's pregnancy. While her brother wiped tears from the witness stand, Casey Anthony also cried. Read more »
June 25 — A pressing legal matter haults court proceedings for the extended Saturday session. Three Florida psychologists were asked to evaluate Casey Anthony, who was deemed competent to stand trial. Read more »
June 28 — Ray Kronk testifies for the defense. Kronk worked as a meter reader, and claims to have found Caylee's remains in August and December 2008, when the remains were recovered by police. Later in the day, Casey's ex-fiancée claimed that Casey didn't want Caylee around her uncle Lee, Casey had explained, because Lee had once tried to grope the defendant while she was sleeping.
