March 01 to March 31, 2009

March  03 – Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland hears arguments from the defense and the prosecution, regarding motions that Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, filed to block the release of a video and photos relating to his client. After listening to arguments from both sides, Judge Strickland decides to delay the release of the tape so that the defense can review it.

The motion the defense had filed regarding the release of photos was in relation to compromising images Anthony had allegedly posted online, prior to her daughter’s reported disappearance. The majority of the images had already been downloaded and posted to various blogs and Web sites; however, Baez claimed that there are several other racy photos that the public has yet to see – images that he feels could be damaging to his defense.

Judge Strickland disagrees with the defense’s notion and ultimately decides to allow the release of the photos. Click here for more details.

March  25 – The state attorney's office files a motion, stating they have concerns about how Anthony--someone who had little money prior to her arrest -- managed to secure a team of high-profile attorneys and expert witnesses. Of central concern, is whether Anthony sold the rights to her story to the media, something that could later be used as basis for appeal.

Upon hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Strickland rules that there is no conflict of interest between Anthony and Baez. Click here for more details.
