This month marks the beginning of jury selection and the potential start of the trial.

May 9 — Jury selection Day 1 - A local television station reporter was allegedly told that Casey rejected a possible plea deal this week. The judge also decided to allow human decomposition evidence in the trial.

May 10 — Day 2 of jury selection — 49 members of the jury pool were abruptly dismissed after some members reportedly discussed the death penalty case while waiting to be sworn in and questioned. Read more »

May 24 — The trial begins and George Anthony, Caylee's grandfather, is the first witness called to the stand. In opening remarks, Jose Baez claimed the defendant was sexually molested by her father throughout her childhood, and that Caylee Anthony accidentally drowned in the family's backyard pool.

May 25 — If the allegations against the Anthony family have even a grain of truth to them -- the jury will surely consider the defense's theory that Casey was out partying "as though nothing happened" because of the abuse endured throughout her childhood. Read more »
