According to investigators with the Lacey Police Department, 33-year-old Belinda Marie Urps, a resident of Lacey, Washington, was last seen on Jan. 19, walking away from her car, which was parked at a residence in the 1100 block of Willow Street Southeast. It is not yet clear if foul play was involved, however to date Belinda has not returned to collect her vehicle.
Belinda's MySpace.com profile shows a last login date of Jan 31. At this time it remains unclear who was the last person to log in to her account. Within it, she describes herself as a parent and college graduate. In the "About Me" section of the profile she wrote:
"I am a single mom of two sons, one is 14 the other is 9. I have lived here most of my life, and have a brother that just turned 21. I consider myself to be a fun and outgoing person. I get along well will all types of people and make friends easily. I love to laugh and do things spur of the moment. I don't tend to judge, and do not wish to be judged. I enjoy the rare find of real people that love life and don't get lost in lies, deception, drama, and the fight to be more than the next person. I feel equal to all, and above nor below anyone. I like to be crazy sometimes and only enjoy the company of those that can roll like every day is thier last and there are no room for haters, wannabes and posers. The word friend carries power to me, it is not something I take lightly…" [Sic throughout].
Belinda did not write anything in her profile that would suggest she was having a difficult time or planning to leave the area. However, on Aug. 1, 2007, a user identified only as "Nicole" did leave a message that seems to hint at some personal turmoil.
"I don't know what's going on with you, you won't talk to me. Hopefully you will get this message before anything happens with you," Nicole wrote. "I don't know what to say. I really am worried about you and wish things were better for you. You are the only one that can make this happen. You are letting yourself drown. It's so very sad to watch you go down hill like you are. I just hope that some day you will wake up and know what you need to do for yourself to make it better."
It remains unclear what the message was referring to, and Nicole has yet to respond to my inquiries about her friend.
The last person to post a comment on Belinda's profile was her son, Eric. On Feb. 5, he wrote:
"Hey mom, call me on the phone or on grandpa cell phone. We wanna know if you are ok. K. Love you. Bye." [Sic throughout].
According to police Belinda is white, 4' 11" tall, 120 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.
