Despite the police department's reluctance to link the cases, Walsh remains convinced that a single perpetrator is responsible for the murders.
"This is a serial killer. He is good at what he does. It's all about the power trip, and I know that when the cases get closer and closer together, like this pattern has, the killer is on the attack. So I say to everybody, don't let your guard down. It's a game for him," Walsh told WPBF.
Regardless of whether or not a serial killer is involved, investigators are taking the cases seriously. The Boca Raton Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office have formed a joint task force dedicated to investigating the unsolved murders.
"We are going to put as many resources and as much effort into this as we possibly can," said Sheriff Ric Bradshaw at the press conference. He added, "We're going to gather all the information not only in the state, but also in the country to find out if this MO has occurred somewhere else."
The America's Most Wanted segment on the murders is scheduled to air February 16, 2008, on Fox.
Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County, INC. is offering a $350,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person involved in the murders of Nancy and Joey Bochicchio.
