![]() Corey Mitchell, J.D., is a law school graduate and the author of the Los Angeles Times bestseller Dead and Buried, the true story of serial rapist turned serial killer Rex Krebs; the critically acclaimed Murdered Innocents, an account of 1991’s Texas yogurt shop slayings; Evil Eyes, the story of America's most vicious serial killer Coral Eugene Watts; and the underground true crime classic, Hollywood Death Scenes. Mitchell's most recent book, Strangler, was released internationally on September 4, 2007, to critical acclaim and top-selling charts. He recently introduced the book at the twenty-first annual Parents of Murdered Children conference in Houston, Texas, as a Guest Speaker and Workshop host. Mitchell is the only true crime author besides Ann Rule to have ever been asked to attend the conference. Mitchell has recently finished his sixth book, Pure Murder, about the senseless killings of Houston teenagers Jennifer Ertman and Elizabeth Pena, which will be released by Kensington/Pinnacle in June 2008. He is currently working on his seventh book about the family murder plotted out by a jealous son, Bart Whitaker, entitled THE UNUSUAL SUSPECT. It is scheduled for release in 2009. Mitchell is the founder and executive editor of In Cold Blog, a collective of nearly 20 true crime authors and professionals. He is also the creator of the Capote Awards which recognizes the best in the fields of true crime writing, blogging, and filmmaking. Mitchell also created and moderates the True Crime forum for MySpace. Corey and his wife, Audra, live to serve their daughter, Emma, deep in the heart of Texas. |
