No. 10 - The Museon Museum Jewel Heist![]() In December 2002, employees of the Museon Museum, a science museum in the Netherlands, arrived at work to find that 28 display cases that were once filled with diamonds and other precious jewels stood empty. Adding mystery to the heist was the fact that the museum employed security guards 24 hours a day, had cameras that covered every square inch of the grounds, and used motion detectors in the areas of all the cases that had been emptied. Still, nothing showed up on video footage and the display cases showed no signs of tampering. The only disturbance to the museum was a single broken window. To date, no one knows how this spectacular heist was carried out.
