No. 2 - Halloween For a homicidal maniac, there is no better time to escape the confines of a mental institution than October 31. Michael Myers is the knife-wielding psycho in the 1978 film, Halloween, who after serving 15 years for stabbing his sister, returns to town for fresh blood. After killing several teens, he sets his sights on a baby-sitter, who manages to inflict several should-be mortal wounds on her attacker in a series of hair-raising scenes. But Myers doesn't die. He falls off a balcony and disappears into the night, presumably preparing for the sequel. Halloween was an enormous success at the box office, becoming one of the most profitable films ever made.
