Sebring, a successful international hair stylist to celebrities such as Warren Beatty, Steve McQueen and Jim Morrison, was visiting with Tate and her friends Abigail Folger and Wojciech Frykowski when "Family" members invaded the home and murdered the group. Sebring and Tate had once been romantically involved and even engaged to be married, but separated after Tate met director Roman Polanski. Sebring remained close friends with Tate and also befriended Polanski. He was buried in Southfield, Mich., at the age of 36.
