Lynette "Squeaky" FrommeRelated LinksMember of the "Manson Family." Fromme was not involved, nor charged with involvement in the Tate-LaBianca murders, but received small prison sentences for contempt of court when she refused to testify and tried to prevent other members of the "Family" from doing so as well. Fromme publicly aligned herself with Manson throughout the trial and thereafter by wearing the letter "X" and swastikas carved into her forehead and protesting outside of the courthouse. In 1975, she attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford and received a sentence of life in prison. In 1987, Fromme made a brief escape from a West Virginia prison to see Manson and served over 20 more years in prison before being released on August 14, 2009. |
