A trash can is reported on fire near some homes in Buffalo, N.Y., and quickly spreads to an adjoining house. The 911 operator receives a call from a woman who is trapped in the home as firefighters race to save her.

Then, a 10-year-old Tacoma, Wash., girl calls 911 to save her mother from being attacked – by her father – and a California man is taught over the phone how to help his pregnant wife give birth in a not so convenient place, i.e., the couple's bathroom.
