A series regular on the acclaimed HBO drama The Sopranos, Steve Schirripa's acting odyssey began while working as the entertainment director of the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas. While there, the Brooklyn native worked with such comedians as Drew Carey, Kevin Pollack and Bruce Baum, and his cameo roles in their comedy specials led to episodic work on the big and small screen, including appearances on Ugly Betty, Law & Order and The George Lopez Show. A popular guest on the talk show circuit, Schirripa has been a special correspondent on The Today Show and has made over 40 appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and also has made numerous appearances on Good Morning America, The View, and Conan, among many others. On the big screen, Schirripa recently won best supporting actor at the New York Independent Film Festival for his role in What Are the Odds, and his many other credits include High Roller, Meet Joe Dirt, M and Terry Gilliam's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He recently lent his voice to the animated feature Open Season 2 & 3, and also appeared opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood's Hereafter. He is co-starring in the Independent Feature Film, Kill The Irishman, opposite Christopher Walken & Ray Stephenson which will be released March 2011. The host of Spike TV's Casino Cinema and NBC's poker-themed game show Face the Ace, Schirripa currently stars in the hit ABC Family series, The Secret Life of the American Teenager. He is also the co-author of the hilarious best-selling Goomba guidebook series. He is also developing a Movie of the Week for Nickelodeon, based on his critically acclaimed book Nicky Deuces, in which he stars. |
